Danny the champion of the world
Unless you've just returned from a trekking adventure in the Andes, you'll know by now that we have a new Masters champion - and a British one… at long last. A massive congratulations to Danny Willett on an incredible victory, thanks for ending 20 years of hurt.
When Nick Faldo chased down Greg Norman in 1996, sports fans, not just golf fans, sympathised with the Australian, who faltered on Sunday to gift Faldo victory. The manner of Jordan Spieth's Sunday meltdown wasn't quite the same, but a few poor swings did the damage. The consolation for the American is that he already has a Green Jacket, although he probably won't see it this way right now.
Willett showed immense nerve to capitalise following Spieth's Amen Corner disaster, this should not be forgotten. If Spieth has the best putting stroke in the world, Willett can't be far behind, and his composure under the severest of pressure was beyond impressive.
There are so many fantastic stories surrounding his first Major win, one of those being that he's just become a father. For all of us, it's tremendous to have a British Masters champion once again.
Roll on the next one.
Wonderful Willett
What did you find most impressive about Danny Willett's Masters triumph? The putting stroke looked solid and the way he dealt with the pressure was immense. His driving when he faced the genuine prospect of becoming the first British winner in 20 years, was also hugely impressive.
We have the latest Callaway equipment in store, including Danny's XR 16 driver and fairways - well, not the exact ones, but we can help fit you so you enjoy better golf this season.
Be sure to speak to us about Danny's line-up, which also includes the Apex irons, Mack Daddy wedges and an Odyssey putter that played a key role in his fantastic win.
